JOIN THE TEAM

for marriage and family therapy interns and associates looking for hours toward graduation and licensure.

Finding the right placement in NYC is hard.

Especially when you want to learn more about working with sex and sexuality. Getting sex therapy supervision can be incredibly time and cost prohibitive. I want to help you get all of your MFT and sex therapy hours in one place.

I hope to make sex therapy certification more accessible to new therapists and people who may not otherwise have access.

This private practice placement offers opportunities to work with diverse clients, to learn about sexually diverse populations, and to provide sex therapy in addition to general psychotherapy.

You will also learn a private practice business model, creating a foundation to open your own practice once you’re licensed.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER:

01

After we meet and decide this is a good fit, I’ll add you to the website, and help you get yourself online in other ways, so that we can get you working with clients as soon as possible.

02

We’ll discuss all the ways you and I will work together to build your caseload, which will take time and require us both to work in various ways.

04

As you begin to get clients, we’ll explore your client’s concerns, as well as how you’re feeling in session, using self of therapist explorations to learn about who you are as a therapist and what approaches come most naturally for you. There will also be opportunities to do co-therapy together, and/or with other therapists in the practice, dependent on schedules.

03

We’ll meet so that you can learn how to take notes, how to give consultations, how to email with the client, how to set fees, and generally set you up to have your first sessions confidently.

Your only investment is your time and energy. You will need to work to get clients, to keep up with notes, and to engage in supervision. You will be expected to work to get referrals through your own contacts and communities, which may require networking.
